Surendranath Mitra
He was one of the blessed lay devotees of Sri Ramakrishna. He was one of the Principal donors to Sri Ramakrishna as well as Barnagar Math. After having the spiritual vision and instruction of Sri Ramakrishna, he came forward with financial help to begin the Baranagar Math.
Bhavanath Chattopadhyay
He was one of the lay disciples of Sri Ramakrishna. He had a great contribution in searching out the place for Baranagar Math where it started.
Master Mahashay (Mahendranath Gupta)
He was titled as 'Sri M', was one of the lay devotees of Sri Ramakrishna and greatly blessed with the grace of Him. He used to come often to the Math and stayed there number of days at a time. His magnum opus and unforgettable achievement is 'Sri Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita' (The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna).
Balaram Bose
He was one of the close lay devotees of Sri Ramakrishna. When Sri Ramakrishna had been visiting Kolkata he fascinated to pay visit to Balaram's residence. His residence was regarded by the Master as a holy place. The first historical meeting of the formation of the Ramakrishna Mission had held here on May 1st, 1897 under the leadership and guidance of Swami Vivekananda.
Chunilal Bose
He was a resident of Bagbazar and also one of the householder devotees of Sri Ramakrishna. He was an intimate associate of the Baranagar Math.
Girish Chandra Ghosh
He was a renowned actor, director and playwright. He was one of the greatly blessed and graced lay disciples of Sri Ramakrishna. He was really a very prominent and brilliant personality. His love and faith in the Master was incomparable.
